I first picked up a Consumer Reports new car buying guide for info on makes and models and how to shop for a car, how to interface with a dealer, and how to avoid the diversionary sales tactics employed by some salesmen. Among the 3 dealers I emailed for price quotes and then followed up with a visit, Oak Lawn Toyota was the clear winner in terms of promptly quoting detailed, easy-to-follow "out-the-door" total costs, responding to every email and call, The financing guy, Frank Alessi, not only got me a good financing deal, but also spent about 20 minutes with me explaining in detail the simple steps I should take to cleaning up and improving my credit score. The whole experience was no pressure. When I left at the end of my first visit, when I left and said I wanted to "think it through" over the weekend, they simply said "yeah good idea. We'll be here tomorrow." The other two dealerships I visited tried pressuring me into signing and giving them a down payment before leaving. And one dealership in Lincolnwood trotted out every stale sales tactic in the book to pressure me, and then had 3 salespeople in my face as I tried to leave, visibly angry that I wasn't signing on the spot, which was totally the opposite my experience at Oak Lawn Toyota. I can't know if my buying experience at Oak Lawn Toyota went so good because I had done some online research in advance, and asked for a clear price quote in advance, or whether every customer has the same great experience there. But I know for certain the price I got was good without having to haggle, and the final paperwork/financing stuff went as quickly and smoothly as could be expected.
We own six Toyotas at our home right now between five drivers. We purchased a RAV4 for our daughter last week with Dominick in used vehicles and what a great experience. The car was ready and warmed up when we arrived, and even though we ended up choosing a different vehicle, he was patient and wanted us to choose the right vehicle for us even if the sale wasn't as big. Since we have been home, it has been a wonderful little SUV for our daughter and we can tell it has been serviced well. The attitude of the sales staff, starting with Dianna, was out of this world and the service department is very helpful. Rob was so kind to give us any information we wanted to know about the SUV and he went beyond the normal call of duty to be sure we were treated well. It was not the run of the mill used car experience, that's for sure! We will switch all of our business to Oak Lawn after such a positive experience.

My wife and I went there just to see the difference between the Highlander LE plus and the XLE. We told the salesman right off the bat that we were not buying that day. To be honest at that time we didn't have a clue as to witch dealership we were going to do business with, we just wanted to lay eyes on the two different trim levels and they were the closest dealership to our house. Manny greeted us at the door, we told him why we were there, and he spent the next 30 to 45 minutes showing us the two different vehicles and answering our questions. We went back in the building so he could get us some additional information, and that's when we met Mark the sales manager. Mark spent about 10 minutes telling us some of the options available to us. At no point did either Mark or Manny try to pressure us into buying. It was a very friendly and comfortable conversation. After emailing about 20 other Toyota dealerships and getting quotes, Oak Lawn Toyota was about average with their price. So, because they treated us extremely nice, and had no problem answering multiple questions over a 3 week period,we decided to sit down and talk numbers. We ended up getting a great deal on a 2019 Highlander XLE. The whole process was easy and painless.

We'd been looking for an SUV to replace our QX4 and had located a 4Runner through AutoTrader at the Oak Lawn Toyota dealership. When we arrived, Lou Rodriguez in sales had prepped the car and was ready for the test drive. Quality and reliability were top on our list of must haves along with a capable 4WD with a body-on-frame chassis - the 4Runner fit our needs perfectly and Lou made the buying experience very enjoyable. My experience was so warm and friendly. This was the fourth Toyota dealership I had been to and had bad experiences at all of them until I walked through the doors at Oak Lawn Toyota. I started correspondence with Lauren who was great, worked with Steve who was great, onto Rob for my remote start, and ended with Jason for finance. They were all fantastic and accommodating. Rob even gave me 2 stuffed animals to bring home to my kids! Can't say enough, have been telling people to go there and I will now be a customer for life!
