The Importance Of Sticking To Routine Maintenance

When Evergreen Park drivers buy a vehicle, they’re making an investment and building equity. The best way to ensure that your vehicle remains reliable, safe, and a smart investment, is by sticking to your Toyota maintenance schedule. Your maintenance schedule consists of various mileage intervals, and at each interval, you bring your vehicle in for specific services. Here’s a quick breakdown of the Toyota maintenance schedule:

Every 3 months or 3,000 miles:

  • Automatic transmission, power steering, wiper fluid levels
  • Engine oil and air filter
  • Belts, exhaust, and hoses
  • All lights inside and out
  • Fuel filter
  • Tire pressure, tire tread wear and tear check

Every 6 months or 6,000 miles:

  • Car battery and cables
  • Chassis lubrication
  • Windshield wipers
  • Polish your vehicle

Every 12 months or 12,000 miles:

  • Brake system
  • Coolant levels
  • Transmission fluid levels
  • Steering and suspension

By staying on top of Toyota brake inspections, transmission fluid flushes, and tire inspections, following the schedule in your owner’s manual will not only keep you safer but will save you thousands in future repairs. Even if you don’t drive your vehicle often, it’s recommended that you schedule Toyota service to ensure that there aren’t any major issues.

What Toyota Service Do You Need at the 30,000-mile Interval?

Of the many intervals in the Toyota maintenance schedule, the 30,000-mile mark is highly important. At this point in your schedule, your vehicle will receive important services that include:

  • Engine oil change
  • Oil filter replacement
  • Tire pressure check and rotation
  • Fuel system inspection
  • Lubrication of propeller shaft, driveshaft bushings, and steering knuckles
  • Lubrication of hood and door hinges
  • Engine air filter replacement
  • Cabin air filter replacement and cabin air purification

In addition to these services, technicians will also perform all of the services that are offered at 5,000 and 15,000 miles. Oil changes are particularly important for Orland Park drivers because when the engine isn’t properly lubricated, its moving parts will generate lots of heat and cause the engine to fail.
